Vanessa Benavente

Vanessa Benavente fell in love with the theater when she was only 6 in her hometown of Lima, Peru when she took part in her school’s production of Annie. Having also lived in the US at intervals, she was bilingual from a very young age and soon started to perform in both Spanish and English, in productions like “The Crucible” and “La Casa de Bernarda Alba”. This also gave her the unique opportunity to work on stages in many countries around the world. She graduated as an actor from the prestigious Corazza Studio in Madrid, Spain, which includes the oscarized Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz among its alumni. While in Spain, Vanessa participated in numerous productions as part of the Teatro Atómico ensemble, in plays like Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet”, Tennessee Williams' “Summer and smoke”, and others.

As a recurring member in Gota a Gota productions, she participated in countless shows all over Spain doing children’s musical theater in English, including “The Centerville Ghost” and “The Mousetrap”.

2012 found her back in the United Stated, where she worked in the acclaimed Microtheater Miami project. The project was such an overwhelming success she was invited back repeatedly until she finally decided to move back to the United States and settle in Los Angeles.
